Water Filtering Systems
Not all water filtering systems are equal. Capacity, media quality, media order, water conditioning are all-important factors when it comes to filtering water for consumption. We find it interesting that in so many water filter systems reviews these items are rarely elaborated on. The water filter reviews do not talk much about the amount of filtering media used and its quality. The reviews do not talk about how the water sees the media meaning the order it is in and how important this is. Moreover, hardly any of the water systems reviewed mention water conditioning being included with the water filter.
Many water filtering systems do not have much in the way of media inside them. The common Aquasana water filters for a countertop or under sink versions are light on media because they are so small. None of the water filter pitcher type filters have much in the way of media in them either. The problem with this is the water touches with limited media for such a short time. Therefore, the media’s ability to take out all the chemicals and contaminants is limited. The surface area exposed is small like the filter. Little filters clog faster and need replacements that are more frequent. This is why the bigger the filter you can afford the better off you will be. Whole house water filters are the best therefore. Reputable companies make sure these filters need minimum maintenance.
The small water filters in the reviews also do not have backwashing systems to stir the carbon media up. This is important to expose new sections of the media to the water and make it more effective at drawing out the water problems. In addition, these filters suffer from low quality media. Some water filter companies skimp on using high quality media because it costs more. They use cheap grade carbon, which does not have the capacity to absorb contaminants like high quality media can. The HealthyHome Solution water filter contains four types of the highest quality media available, which is why it is so much more effective.
Just to let you know, we use two types of coconut shell carbon as well as our other “secret” media. (You have to call us to find out about the other media we use. Some of it is proprietary so we do not name it directly here in case our competitors are watching.) (949) 644-1800
Water filter systems should have several different types of media to be efficient. And those different medias must be in the right order. In water filter systems reviews they rarely if ever discuss this. We find that when we take competitor’s water filters apart, they do not even do this. If the water does not see the filtering carbon, KDF and other media correctly, it will stop to filter effectively.
Our media and the specific order in which it is placed within the water filter unit removes or reduces chemicals, odors, bad tastes, chlorine, chloramines, organics, pesticides, and heavy metals. We can reduce fluoride, arsenic and chromium 6 levels too but that takes special arrangements to work effectively. Call us for the specifics on that. (949) 644-1800.
Something else you do not see talked about with water filtering systems is water conditioning. We feel this is getting more and more critical as people move away from environmentally unfriendly water softeners. People still want hard water issues solved and water conditioning is a great way to do that. However, some water conditioners make no sense and there is no way they work. The science behind those is voodoo. Our conditioner is the real deal. It has more surface to act and does not restrict water flow.
Our proprietary catalytic converter is used to condition the water and is only available with our water filtration systems. This unit will condition hard water differently than a traditional water softener does but it does not have the salt discharge that is getting water softeners banned across the country. The HealthyHome Solution water filter is an alternative to standard water softeners that does not endanger the environment. If you are interested in conditioning and filtering water plus you have environmental concerns, you should look into this green water filter system.
We install many water filter systems in Orange County, California. Some of the cities we service are Newport Beach, Corona del Mar, Irvine, Tustin, Santa Ana, and Huntington Beach. Call us for an estimate or more information on the best water filtering systems for your home.
